Sun Salutations or Surya Namaskar is a dynamic sequence of yoga poses performed to build heat in the body. They are normally performed in the beginning of a yoga class to energize the body, increase circulation and build strength. But most importantly, it is a sequence that links our breath with our movement. We do each movement per breath slowly and with awareness. This connection of movement with our breath and with awareness is called Vinyasa.
